For first-time visitors, we recommend Khutwanda Gate - it is just 5 minutes from Vanyadome and provides direct access to core tiger territory. Moharli Gate is another excellent choice with a strong track record of tiger sightings.
Yes, but each gate requires a separate permit. The morning safari (6:00-9:00 AM) and evening safari (3:00-6:00 PM) operate on different time slots. We recommend one gate per session to maximise encounters.
Core zone safaris go deep into prime tiger habitat with strictly limited permits - highest chance of sighting a tiger. Buffer zone safaris operate on the periphery, offering more permits, fewer crowds, and the possibility of spotting leopards, sloth bears, and wild dogs alongside tigers.
During peak season (October-June), we recommend booking at least 2-3 weeks in advance, especially for core zone gates like Khutwanda and Moharli. Off-season permits can often be arranged 2-3 days prior. WhatsApp us and we will handle the booking process for you.
For the 6:00 AM gate opening, we recommend leaving Vanyadome by 5:15-5:30 AM for Khutwanda (5 min drive), 4:45 AM for Moharli (25 min drive), and 4:30 AM for Navegaon (35 min drive). Your Vanyadome host can prepare an early morning tea or packed breakfast for the road.
